OutMilitary.com - new app connecting soldiers

By Zack Jenkins

Proximity locations have made connecting in the dating world much more convenient. Social apps like Grindr, A4A, Skout and other location-specific features allow those with smart phones to find others around them based on distance. OutMilitary.com has launched a dating/hookup app specifically for LGBT service members.

Shaun Knittel, the official spokesperson for OutMilitary.com told Instinct Magazine that “OutMilitary.com has served as a springboard for gay and lesbian service members to connect with each other. We began to notice that members were finding love on OutMilitary.com because of the website’s primary function to serve as a resource for gay and lesbian service members, but we saw a need for a same-sex dating or hookup site based around the military.”

The site added ‘NEAR ME’ and ‘LOCATIONS’ functions on the mobile app to make it hassle free and straightforward.

The site’s 65,000 active duty members and 1 million veteran members embraced the app’s launch, which can be downloaded for iPhone and Android phones. Both domestic and abroad, the app makes it simple for LGBT service members to find those around them, chat and connect.

Whether for chatting, dating or hooking up all over the world, LGBT service members can connect and stay on top of all LGBT related military news through social media links. Networking post-DADT is easier than ever. At ease, soldiers.

WOW, I would think the existing ones would work. How are they going to keep non-military people off of it?
