Gap's inclusive "Love Comes in Every Shade" holiday campaign

By Anna Peirano

Gap's theme this holiday season is "Love Comes In Every Shade," and continues the corporation's tradition of being inclusive in their advertising campaigns.

Musician Rufus Wainwright and his husband, artistic director Jorn Weisbrodt, are featured in the campaign behind a banner reading "married love." The two married in New York City last August.

The cast from TV show "The New Normal" are also featured in an ad spot behind the banner "modern love."

Gap CMO Seth Farbman said in a statement of Wainwright and Weisbrodt that, "Their personal relationships help remind us that every family is unique and often goes beyond just those we're related to--it also includes the people we share our lives and deepest passions with. This campaign celebrates these diverse, optimistic views on family and the many forms love can take."

Other themes in addition to "married love" and "modern love" include: in love, best friend love, puppy love, true love, sibling love, and fatherly love.

Gap received a top rating of 100 percent in this year's HRC Corporate Equality index - a perfect score reflecting their treatment of and attitude towards LGBT employees and consumers.
